Benefits of Eating Fish



You can eat fish on a regular basis as it helps to protect against serious diseases. It is good in vitamins and minerals and is a major source of omega-3 fatty acids. It can protect you from a range of diseases like cancer, heart diseases, depression and arthritis. The British Heart Foundation recommends eating oily fish as it reduce the risk of heart diseases. Fish oils helps to reduce blood clotting and abnormal heart rhythms after heart attack.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids in fish prevent damage to brain. Eating fish reduces the risk of high blood pressure which is associated with dementia. It is studied that those who did not take fish are in a terrible risk of developing prostate cancer than those who had it. Shellfish such as crab and lobster have cancer-fighting properties.

Eating Fish helps to reduce depression. It has been studied that fish oils are useful in relieving the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

White fish like cod are good source of low-fat protein and minerals. Oily fish such as sardines, pilchards, salmon and mackerel have the highest concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids. Crab, lobster and mussels are in shellfish groups that contain selenium which has cancer-fighting properties.

Now days we get capsules rich in fish oils. Intake of one capsule per day is similar to eating fish. You can make it as practice for children to take one capsule per day.
