How to avoid bad breath


Bad breath is caused by avoiding brushing or by health-related problems. The health-related problems need medical attention. Bad breath is caused by the food we eat as well as poor oral hygiene. It is advisable to observe proper oral hygiene like brushing the tongue and cheeks and visiting the dentist once a month. 

If you make simple changes in your lifestyle you can improve bad breath. Here are some of them:

Drink lots of water: - Avoid drinking soda or sugary drinks. Drink more water as water helps
 loosen bacteria from the mouth and flush it out of the system. This way you can avoid bacteria built up.

Minimize your alcohol consumption: - Drinking alcohol gives you bad breath. If possible drink 
  water with your alcohol to wash down the odour.

Cut back on sugar: - Minimize sugar in your diet as it lessens the chances of forming tooth decay.

Brush your teeth at least twice daily.

Make sure you visit the dentist every 6 months.

It is important to even clean your tongue because plague and bacteria even grows on tongue.


Eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

Some natural remedies for fresh breath are aniseed, parsley and cloves. Chew on them and 
   your breath will smell fresh.

Brushing after every meal is not possible; therefore gargle with the help of a good mouth wash.

Avoid eating foods that cause bad breath such as onions and garlic. Coffee also causes bad 
  breath, therefore consider drinking tea. High protein foods such as meat, poultry, milk and 
  cheese also causes bad breath. Make sure you clean your mouth after consuming such foods.

Avoid snacking in between meals as this provides fodder for bacteria to feed on resulting in bad breath.

Sugar Free Mint Chewing gums result in removing bad breath. Mouth freshner can wipe off bad 
  breath if used regularly. Mouth sprays can be used before attending interviews or other discussions.
